The Fellowship of Inspection Nominees (FIN) is very pleased that Ofsted has taken on board recommendations made in FIN’s Big Listen submission which was based on the experiences of nearly 200 nominees in training providers, employers, colleges and universities.

“The Fellowship of Inspection Nominees (FIN) told us that reporting should include more guidance on how to improve provision. FIN also said that ‘98% of surveyed nominees are adamant that 5 days’ notice of an inspection should be given to providers of all sizes’.”
On inspectors’ behaviour since the Ruth Perry tragedy, Ofsted writes: “The FIN, who had sampled 770 of their members, reported that ‘inspectors are showing more consideration towards the learning organisation’s staff. Long may this continue’.
