Congratulations to our member Ioda Ltd who recently achieved Good in all areas of their very first full Ofsted inspection.
Ioda has been recognised for creating a culture of continuous learning and development, combined with professional interactions with apprentices. These factors have ensured apprentices apply a calm and professional approach to both their studies and job role.
As a result of this “Most apprentices are resilient and respond well under sustained periods when they have high workloads. They persevere and continue to develop their skills, knowledge and behaviours well.”
A strength of the organisation is the clear strategy established by leaders and managers that helps to provide apprenticeships in leadership and management to public, private and voluntary sector employers. Through employing managers with extensive experience the managing training meets employers’ requirements effectively. Additionally, leaders and managers “ attend webinars and training sessions” where they then “collaborate with peers to share knowledge on a range of topics”
Ioda Ltd have effective safeguarding with policies and procedures designed to keep apprentices safe, these are “contextualised to reflect the nature of the management programmes that apprentices follow.”
Areas for improvement include:
“Ensure that apprentices’ progress reviews consistently involve their employers.”
“Provide information for all apprentices on how to achieve high grades at endpoint assessment.”
Lisa Reynolds, Head of Training and Operations stated, “We have always maintained that we do what we do, the ioda way, to ensure our Learners receive the very best service that they need to ‘achieve their greatness’ and we know that takes a big team effort. It starts with us designing the right training and apprenticeship programmes for our learners. We then have to have the right highly skilled people to deliver our programmes which includes our Coaches, Trainers and the Business Support Team, and it requires our Clients to create the environments in which our learners can flourish. Working in true partnership has enabled us to achieve a great Ofsted result. We don’t quite fit the Ofsted mould but we were really keen for them to come in and inspect us and we are delighted with the result. The assessment was a really positive experience.”
