Member Spotlight – League Football Education

Congratulations to League Football Education (LFE) who achieved outstanding in all areas of their ofsted inspection.

LFE was established in 2004 to help deliver the apprenticeship program to 16–18-year-olds at EFL clubs. The organisation focuses on player’s on and off pitch development to allow players to leave in the best possible position for their future.

At the time of the inspections LFE was working with 65 of the EFL’s clubs to deliver the Level 3 Sporting Excellence Professional Apprenticeship Standard to a total of 1,184 16–18-year-old apprentices, and 584 young people on a level 3 education programme in sports coaching and development.

LFE has been recognised for the level of support they offer to learners and apprentices, with access to mental health first aiders, counselling, and cardio screening to monitor and improve their physical health.

With this factor in place learners and apprentices feel safe, they know how to keep themselves and other safe from radicalisation and extremism. In addition to the level of support available LFE also teach pupils an extensive range of learning topics on healthy lifestyles, drug and alcohol misuse and metal health. A range of speakers also provide training on safeguarding awareness.

Leaders and board members have high expectations for learners and apprentices. They accurately identify good practice and quickly resolve any areas of learners’ and apprentices’ learning that could be further improved. Leaders are committed to providing a high-quality education across all curriculum areas. As a result, learners and apprentices that study with LFE do extremely well.

LFE Chief Executive, Sarah Stephen stated “Once again, we are extremely proud that Ofsted have rated us ‘Outstanding’ in all areas, an achievement that confirms all our staff and stakeholders are committed to providing outstanding, tailored education programs for all young people and go above and beyond in everything we do.”

LFE will be joining our Aiming For Outstanding webinar on June 29th where they will be sharing their experience on achieving outstanding in their Ofsted inspection. Within the webinar LFE will discuss their provision, their focus on high-quality delivery and meeting the needs of their learners. This session will provide insight over and above the inspection report and allow an opportunity for any questions. To find out more about our upcoming events click here.
