The Skills Network is an award-winning e-learning training provider serving the corporate, public and educational sectors. Formed in Yorkshire in 2009, The Skills Network is the UK’s largest provider of e-learning experiences offering over 150 courses in 30 countries around the world and upskilling more than 35,000 learners in the UK alone each year. Western Power Distribution

Western Power Distribution (WPD) is the electricity distribution network operator (DNO) for the Midlands, South West England and South Wales, responsible for the power lines, poles, transformers and substations that deliver electricity to customers’ homes.

We are the largest DNO by geography in the UK. We employ around 6,500 staff and have an annual intake of around 100 apprentices. Our training provision takes place across five bespoke facilities located in Taunton, Tipton, Stoke, Cymbran, and Worcester.

Our facilities have a reputation for excellence and are some of the biggest and best-equipped in the country for the provision of skills and operational training within the industry. We offer level 3 and 4 standards-based apprenticeships as well as external training for other DNOs and contractors.

Training and development is a critical part of our succession planning programmes and we currently have almost 200 level 3 apprentices studying the Power Network Craftsperson Standard (PNC) as well as a number of level 4 apprentices studying the Electrical Power Network Engineer Standard (EPNE).

Following a recent inspection, Ofsted found: Apprentices develop significant new knowledge, skills, and behaviours that prepare them well for their career with WPD. They receive good teaching from experienced and knowledgeable trainers.


University of Derby

The University of Derby offers apprenticeships in priority sectors from levels 2-7. Additionally, with Buxton and Leek College as part of the University, study programmes for young people and adult learning programmes are offered. Our activities are focused on supporting the region through things like training police forces and working with large engineering firms, to supporting the development of the workforce in nationally pivotal sectors such as nursing. Through our 6 Academic Themes we engage with employers to develop a relevant curriculum and our research on impact roots our work in ensuring great value added to individuals, employers and communities as a key anchor institution.


Best Practice Network

Best Practice Network is a leading provider of apprenticeships to Education Professionals and Early Years practitioners in the country. We’ve drawn from our School Leadership and Early Years expertise to create apprenticeships delivering first class professional development to schools and nurseries funded via the Levy or co-investment. Levels range from 3 to 7 supporting practitioners learn & apply new knowledge, skills & behaviours within their career pathway. All our apprenticeships are appropriately sequenced and tailored to meet a balanced approach of blended learning, benefiting from learning activities with their tutor, guided & self-directed learning via our e-learning platforms ensuring apprentices feel ready for their end assessment.

PLG are proud to report consistent overall success rates of 70%+ across our programmes however the real impact of our apprenticeships comes from the vast majority who stay with their employers, many of which achieve a promotion or take the next steps in their careers as a result of their development.

The LMP Group is made up of 3 separate companies but with a collective mission to inspire ambition and widen horizons. LMP provides opportunities and supports social change across the UK. The focus is on education and social impact; working together to bring about positive and sustainable development.

Gen2

We are based in Cumbria and predominantly operate in the Nuclear and Engineering sector- however we have diverged in to other areas such as Business Admin, Teaching Assistants and Civil Engineering. The majority of our provision is apprenticeships with some commercial activity and a small cohorts of Study Programme learners.


Surrey Adult Learning

Surrey Adult Learning provides inclusive opportunities to promote learning, health and wellbeing. We inspire people to achieve their potential. With seven dedicated adult learning centres in North and Southwest Surrey, plus community venues and an extended online programme, we can meet the needs of learners in and around Surrey.

North Kent College

Until August 15th, 2020, North Kent College (‘NKC’) was one of four general further education (GFE) Colleges in Kent, sitting at the centre of three distinct geographies: London, Kent, and the Thames Gateway. We had four operational locations – Dartford, Gravesend (the two main sites), Thameside (Maritime) and Bluewater (The Learning Shop). Post August 15th, 2020, the College took over significant parts of Hadlow College and West Kent and Ashford College sites in the Tonbridge and Malling Borough area that were in Education Administration (EA). This means that NKC is now constituted by three GFE campuses, Dartford, Gravesend and Tonbridge, together with the Land-based Hadlow College.

Over the past decade NKC, Dartford & Gravesend (D&G) have consistently been the best College in Kent and Southeast London in terms of achievement results. In 2018/19, the College ranked 2nd nationally out of 169 GFE Colleges for all Level 3 achievement rates. This was an excellent improvement, as we were ranked 11th nationally in 2017/18.

The College’s Vision is to: * Consistently be recognised as a national leading vocational centre dedicated to delivering outstanding teaching & learning. * Deliver courses that continue to reflect local and regional industry needs and be in fields where we have a proven track record. * Train and educate learners who will be seen as the first choice by employers.


Instep UK

‘We develop businesses by developing people’…. Instep UK was established in 1992 and over the last 30 years has been a post 16 training provider of commercial leadership and management training to large corporate clients. Instep UK has been delivering apprenticeships since the Levy was introduced in 2018, assisting existing clients with their Levy spend, whilst continuing to deliver learning and development opportunities to their workforce, maintaining personalised, tailored elements within the set criteria of the apprenticeship standards.

Leadership and management is Instep UK’s core provision but we have more recently branched into the digital market, delivering Data Technician, Data Analyst, Business Analyst and Software Developer. These exciting, new additions allow us to respond to the growing needs of our clients and diversify in an ever evolving work space.


Manchester Adult Education Service (MAES)

MAES exists to connect Manchester’s adults to their potential, their community and their future.

Primarily operating from 8 centres, which are situated in the city’s priority communities, MAES work with around 7000 Manchester residents each academic year, delivering a programme which includes:

– ESOL – English and Maths – Digital Skills/ICT – Preparation for Work – SEN provision – Community Learning – Vocational Employer Responsive (Pathways in Education, Health and Social Care, Leadership and Management, Mental Health and Wellbeing)


The Colleges Partnership

The Colleges’ Partnership is an award-winning vocational training provider with more than 20 years’ experience. We deliver over 5,000 apprenticeships and professional qualifications every year, uniquely tailored to meet the needs of employers like you. Our programmes give apprentices authentic workplace training to maximise their skill and productivity. By nurturing your in-house talent, you create the team that lets you rise above your competition. Our military heritage Nowadays, we service a wide range of industries including the Ministry of Defence and have been doing so for over 20yrs. We have well established relationships with the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force and are currently delivering highly technical apprenticeships to the British Army.


Velocity Academy

Velocity Academy delivers accredited IT, Digital, Data, Management and Administration apprenticeships. Velocity has a strong focus on quality and value for money for our provision. We deliver our programmes to a blend of local authority and private levy and SME organisations.


Creative Alliance

Creative Alliance is an Independent Training Provider that helps people get into and then get on in creative, digital and marketing roles. We trade as a social enterprise. This means we help the next generation of copy writers, designers, digital content producers, event & front of house assistants, lighting & sound engineers, digital marketers, photography assistants, software and web developers and many other roles get their foot in the door to a sustainable career. We do this through: • Careers education & pre-apprenticeship training. • Apprenticeships: we’re specialists in creative, digital and marketing apprentices. • Digital media and digital marketing training courses. We are a Work Based Learning Provider. This means we work closely with employers and our learners spend as much time as possible in the workplace. We are inspected by Ofsted and all our training is nationally accredited.


Ensis Solutions Limited

Ensis Solutions Ltd was established in 2014 by Stuart Crosby and Mike Gregory, two experienced Directors with over 35 years of combined experience within the FE and Work based learning sectors.

Ensis offers a range of Apprenticeships and work based learning programmes. We are a leading provider of Health & Social Care Courses, delivering training to adult and young people alike. Our programmes can be tailor made to suit the needs of our customers and delivered at their place of work.

Our Mission is to be an ethically chosen training provider promoting inclusivity, expertise, and quality as part of our learning and development strategies. NHBC

NHBC is the UK’s leading independent provider of warranty and insurance for new-build homes. Their purpose, to raise standards in house building by championing high-quality homes and protecting homeowners, through training and quality services and by assessing, inspecting and directly insuring new homes registered with them.

NHBC’s industry-leading apprenticeship programmes – Bricklaying & Construction Site Supervisor, have been designed in collaboration with house builders using insights from the inspection service and claims handling, tailored to the needs of housing developers. Bricklaying apprentices train in a realistic site working environment at purpose-built Training Hubs – unique facilities replicating real life working conditions.


Skills for Security

Skills for Security are the UK’s largest fire and security apprenticeship provider, with 600 apprentices live on our apprenticeship programmes from Inverness down to Plymouth and everywhere in between. Skills for Security really do have a reach like no other. Our model of removing barriers to accessing high-quality apprenticeship training has seen us open six centres across the UK and grow our provision by over 500% in as little as three years. At SfS, we believe in quality. After our recent inspection, we managed to retain our good provider status, with comments made by the inspectors about our high-quality resources, curriculum that goes above apprenticeship standards, strong employer relations and relevant links with the sector. Over the next three years, we intend on working closely with employers across the UK to ensure they are able to unlock the full potential of their levy pots and increase our live apprenticeship numbers to over 3,000 as we move into new verticals across the electro-technical sector including digital, cyber, business support, fire and HVAC. Skills for Security are proud members of FIN and believe that having access to support and materials provided by FIN go a long way in helping us develop our staff, stay informed and ensure we remain relevant.
